Scam company
Scam company with 0 integrity and dirty practices. I attempted to sell my ipad to them in perfect condition and they sent me a new, super low offer.
I declined the offer and asked why they had reduced it and they claimed that there were scratches and cracks on the device. Bs! I knew that I had not sent it in that condition and told them I needed compensation for the damages. They agreed and instructed me to go to the Apple Store to get a quote for my damages.
I did just that and waited in the store for hours after work to get the information they had requested. I called them back with the information and theyre saying that they wont pay for the damages and that theyll only buy the device from me which I have no interest in doing anymore.
I want to keep the device and I want it in the condition it was in before I sent it to Gazelle. I sent over pictures of the device to prove that it was in perfect condition upon shipping it to Gazelle.
User's recommendation: Keep your device, not trustworthy

I Was Scammed
I went with good intention trying to sell my iPhone pro max 128gb to this gazelle, which I was the only owner and the phone was like new condition. They emailed me a shipping label which I printed of on Dec 12.
On Dec 14th the device was mailed to them. I was provided with a tracking number showing my device was delivered to their warehouse in Processing Center 7213 Global Drive Zip 40258 in Louisville Ky. According to the post office they PICKED up my phone on Dec 16th 2023 at 2:55pm. I waited to reach out by email on Dec 19th.
They responded saying they have no record of my transaction. My transaction was cancelled after I mailed in my device. I provided imei number, talked to 2 people on different occasions to try to get my phone back. I provided them with all documentation of this transaction.
No one has contacted me or really tried to help with located my device.
This was an horrible experience and now I have no iPhone or no offer. Terribley disappointed.
Date of experience: December 10, 2023
- No pros for me

Verified ReviewerMy iPad went from near perfect condition to scratches exceeding valuation - Huh???
I did a trade-in of an iPad Pro 12.9 256GB Gray Wi-Fi Only in near perfect condition. Thinking I was protecting myself on the rare chance there was a mishap, I took photos of the front and back prior to packaging and sending off to Gazelle.
Gazelle received my device soon thereafter (Nov 15 2023), assessed my trade-in as scratched in excess and they downgraded my valuation from $469 to $216.
If the iPad I traded in is indeed now scratched, it was done after receiving the device by Gazelle.I used Gazelles packaging and followed their instructions.
After learning of the downgrade in validation, I called (on Nov 15) provided photo evidence and asked for an escalation to re-examine, hoping they made an honest mistake.
3 weeks later and after many phone calls and unfulfilled promises, I hear the same thing every time I call: We dont have a status update, we are sending an email to the warehouse, you will receive an update directly from the warehouse in 2-3 days.
I dont know if this is fraud, incompetence, or theft but I am out $469 on a trade-in of a perfectly good device.
I really wish I would have taken what Apple offered, $400.
Yes, I am pissed! I really wish I would have researched what I thought was a company with a stellar history.
With very little hope Gazelle will actually re-examine my device and value it fairly (in line with its condition on trade-in as documented by the included photos), I now am in a state of disgust and feel like I probably lost $469 that I really could have put to good use this Christmas season.
- Boxes and labels shipped promptly
- Easy trade-in process
- Loss of valuation and damage to your device
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Do NOT trust your trade-in devices with Gazelle. It’s literally not worth it and just might leave you with nothing to show like me.

Verified ReviewerGazelle damaged my device and downgraded value of trade-in
I did a trade-in of an iPad Pro 12.9 256GB Gray Wi-Fi Only in perfect condition and took photos of the front and back prior to packaging just in case it was necessary.
Gazelle received my device and, on the same day, assessed it as scratched in excess and they downgraded my valuation from $469 to $216. As my title suggests: if the iPad I traded in is indeed now scratched, it was done after receiving the device by Gazelle.
I provided photo evidence and asked for an escalation to re-examine, hoping they made an honest mistake.
3 weeks later and tons of phone calls, I hear the same thing every time I call: We dont have a status update, we are sending an email to the warehouse, you will receive an update directly from the warehouse in 2-3 days.

Yes, I am pissed!

- Not getting the valuation and possibly none at all

Verified ReviewerThey refuse to offer the amount that was offered
Was sending in an iPhone 7 for the agreed upon $450. Not sure as to why but somehow a very old email is where all there correspondence went to and I never received any notification that they received the phone I sent in.
In fairness I was going to send in 2 iPhones but needed to keep the one a bit longer yet. I must have put the phone I was sending in the wrong box. However, I called today to find out if they received the phone as I had not heard anything back and I thought that seemed odd. When I called customer support, they said they had no record of my email, but a very old email that I never use anymore was where all correspondence apparently went.
So first the offer they took from $450 for the phone I sent in great condition down to $27, and somehow it went from great shape to they claim damaged, and outside the 30 day time limit. I sent the phone weeks ago so how could their offer expire and it go down to $27. Since all correspondence was through a very old email, then I never received the new $27 offer and didnt respond. But I checked my email daily and nothing.
Since I then never knew their emails were going to the old one they had in their system from a previous transaction 7 years ago, I never knew they drastically reduced the offer and now claimed damage that was never there when I sent it. Now they said they deemed the new offer accepted and cut a check for $37 since I also had a promo code. Their customer support (manager is who I asked for) was not seeming to put together that everything other than me accidentally sending the right phone back in the wrong box was their companys fault and I do not see how they can reduce the offer and accept it on my behalf for damage I did not do. They did not offer any reasonable solutions.
Just stated I have no options since the check is cut and sent. By the way, I have yet to receive that either.
- Shocked and disappointed by their egregious behavior
Preferred solution: Want them to honor their $450 offer as the phone I sent in was in excellent condition. Where did the supposed “damage-scratches” come from
User's recommendation: Use another company that has business ethics, stands by their offers and doesn’t jip you

Verified Reviewer |Gazelle lost my iPhone and refuse to rectify it.
I sent my iPhone XR in, they listed $120 for one like it. When they received it they said it had scratches (untrue) and offered $105.
I asked them to return it. They said it was mailed on October 10th and would take 10 business days to receive it. It never arrived. They; then told me it was delivered and stolen and I should file a complaint with the police.
After many requests, I finally managed to get a tracking number from them., This showed it was mailed on October 10th but says nothing about it's being moved to other post offices or being delivered. The phone is apparently lost and they're refusing to do anything about it!

Verified Reviewer |Possible fraudulent actions by Gazelle
I had sent 2 previous items to sell, an iPad and a MacBook pro, both in excellent condition. On the iPad they gave me a price, said it was damaged and then offered a low-ball amount.
I complained & they then honored their offer. On the MacBook Pro, they pulled the same trick and offered a stupidly low price. I complained, and they not only made good but paid us more than the original offer. This time, I sent in an iPad Pro 2nd Gen.
in just about perfect condition. They offered $189.00 at first, then after receiving it, again claimed fictitious damage and lowered the offer to $23.00. I refused that offer and received my iPad back IN PERFECT CONDITION! I expected them to damage the unit to make it match their unjustified assessment.
I believe that this is their method of operation in the hope that the low-ball offers are accepted so that they can sell the items for substantially higher prices. I don't know what you can or will do about this, but I am also sending this message to the Consumer Affairs Bureau in NJ for review.
Preferred solution: I still want to sell this iPad Pro 12.9 2nd Gen. but don't know to who
